Graduation Ceremony and Tickets
The graduation ceremony will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, June 21, on the turf field at Tozier Stadium. Students should report to Gym 5/6 at 8:30 am. Students will not be allowed to drive to school on graduation morning because we cannot accommodate all the cars. Students should ride with their parents.

We fully intend to hold the graduation outdoors, rain or shine. Only lightning, torrential rain, or other safety concerns would cause us to make an adjustment. The alternate plans are to delay the start until the storm passes through or postpone the ceremony until later in the afternoon, depending on the weather. The last resort is to move the commencement to the Performing Arts Center in the early evening. We will do our best to make a decision as early as possible, but it is not realistic to predict the exact details of a weather-dependent postponement at this point. Again, we fully intend to remain outdoors where we can accommodate all guests.

Tickets for an outdoor ceremony are not required, but if we must hold the ceremony in the PAC, each graduate will receive only two tickets because seating is limited. Guests will not be admitted without the indoor tickets. We will run a live video of the indoor ceremony in the South Auditorium and the North Cafeteria for additional guests.

We will have a designated parking area on campus for vehicles that have a New Jersey DMV-issued license plate or placard for persons with a disability. We also will have golf cart shuttles available to assist folks with travel between a drop-off area in the back parking lot and the stadium. Special seating is available only for guests who cannot climb the bleachers at the stadium.

Island Photography will take pictures as each graduate receives a diploma.

Payment of Fines
Students should pay all fines as soon as possible, or they risk not receiving a cap and gown. Diplomas will be held by the school until all fines are paid. Before calling the school, please check Parent Access and open the letter tab to determine whether your son or daughter has an outstanding fine. Also, a list of outstanding fines by student ID number will be posted outside the South Cafeteria.

Seniors should resolve these fines by communicating with their teachers as soon as possible. If they do not, they will be expected to pay the fines or return the items to a designated area outside the main office during the mornings of June 17 and 18. If you have questions about fines that cannot be resolved with the teacher or coach, then kindly refer to the list below:

Book or equipment fines: Contact the appropriate department supervisor

Uniform fines: Mrs. Lisa Martins, athletics office, room 126, ext. 4970
Library fines: Mr. Scott Keele, library, ext. 2975
Cafeteria fines: Mr. Angelo Foschini, north cafeteria, ext. 4805

Expectations for Student Conduct and Attire for Graduation
We recognize this is a joyous occasion, but we strongly encourage everyone to help us maintain the dignity of the ceremony. We expect all attendees to show respect for the speakers and be sensitive to families and friends who wish to hear the names of their graduates called. Air horns and excessive shouting do not support the kind of atmosphere we wish for our students and their families.

Likewise, students are required to dress appropriately for a formal ceremony. In addition to the cap and gown, students must adhere to the expectations below:

Boys: shoes (no sneakers, work boots, or flip flops), dress slacks or khakis (no shorts or jeans), dress shirt and tie.

Girls: shoes or dress sandals (no flip flops), dresses, skirts, or slacks

We reserve the right to require students to change their attire if they do not meet these expectations. Please help us ensure that our students dress appropriately and behave respectfully. We all will benefit from a dignified ceremony.

Graduation Practice
Seniors will participate in graduation practice on Wednesday, June 19, and Thursday, June 20. Attendance is mandatory. Each graduate must know the procedures and protocols, and attendance and cooperation at practice are the two key elements to efficient practice sessions and a successful, well-coordinated ceremony.

Wednesday, June 19
Students report to Gym 5/6 by 8:00 am for practice. Caps and gowns will be                                                        distributed after practice to those students who have paid all fines.

Thursday, June 20
Students report to Gym 5/6 by 8:00 am for practice. Tickets for an indoor                                                              ceremony will be distributed after practice to those students who have paid all fines.

Friday, June 21
Students report to Gym 5/6 at 8:30 am.

Post-Graduation Procedures
Students will pick up their diplomas in Gym 1/2 after 11:30 am.
