Student Records & FERPA

Parents and adult pupils have the right to review the pupil's entire record or any part of it within 10 days of their request to do so, to have copies made, to challenge the contents of the record, and/or to insert educationally relevant date and/or comments. Parents and adult pupils must give their permission, or in other situations receive prior notice, before Watchung Hills Regional High School (WHRHS) discloses student record information to an organization, agency or person outside the school district unless WHRHS has been instructed by law or court to do otherwise.

 
11th and 12th grades only: Please review FERPA regulations for military information by clicking on this link FERPA. The following is student "directory information," which may be released without permission, except when prohibited by a parent or adult student.

3) Telephone number
4) Date and place of birth
5) Major field of study
6) Participation in recognized activities/sports
7) Height and weight if on athletic team
8) Awards received
9) Previous school districts attended

Media Exclusion for 2024-2025 School Year applicable to current 11th and 12th grade students only. Ninth, tenth, and new transfer students have already completed this form through the Parent Portal.
