Principal's School-Opening Letter
August 24, 2018
Dear Students and Parents,
Late August is really one of the best times of the year--it’s a time to think, to anticipate, and to imagine the path you will create and travel over the next ten months. There are few things as exciting as the anticipation of a new school year, and no matter what year you’re entering, you have the opportunity to broaden your perspective and deepen your understandings. Finding your pathway, however, doesn’t come without an interest in ideas and a disciplined work ethic. So I encourage you to be curious about the world, to pay attention to your experiences, and to approach your responsibilities with an honest, dedicated effort.
We remain focused on preparing you for a global community, and our culture of acceptance invites you to discover new perspectives and embrace difference. In our commitment to strengthening our culture of inquiry and collaboration, you have the freedom to develop your critical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills and to realize your purpose and potential in a complex world.
Before you begin designing your way forward, please follow the instructions on the school-opening information webpage. Parents and students should read all sections carefully. Student schedules will be available through Parent Access at noon today. In early September, we’ll share our revised integrity guidelines. It’s important that students learn about these changes in school first.
Your teachers cannot wait to see you and support you this year. We all look forward to a year of exploration and growth.
Best wishes for the remaining days of summer break.
Very truly yours,
George P. Alexis
