Summer School

WHRHS Empower Summer School 2026 

Runs Tuesday, June 23 through Thursday, July 23
5 weeks, 4 days/per week, 3hrs/per course a day

Credit Recovery Format:
1. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays: Students must report in-person and on time to WHRHS classrooms for 3 hours each day.

2. Outside of class, students will be required to complete an additional three hours of asynchronous online on the Edgenuity coursework platform per course each week.

Two Sessions Available:
AM session 8-11 
PM session 12-3
Students taking two courses would need to attend both sessions

Instruction provided by:
WHRHS Humanities Teacher and/or STEM Teacher

Cost:
$150 per course (max of 2) via PaySchools Central
No cost for students approved for free or reduced lunch

The Empower Summer Program provides students with an opportunity to recover credit and demonstrate academic progress through consistent effort, responsible behavior, and active participation. Adherence to the following guidelines is expected.

Additional Information:
1. Students can enroll in up to two academic courses for credit recovery during the summer.

2. Transportation to and from WHRHS campus to be provided by parents/caregivers.

3. Lunch to be provided by parent; student will be permitted to remain at WHRHS and have their provided lunch  in the Dr. DiGanci Atrium from 11am to 12pm if attending the PM session.

4. In addition to passing the coursework, students must complete 60 hours of instruction to recover credit.

5. Summer school course credit recovery does not meet the requirements for NCAA course eligibility.

6. Open only to current Grade 9-12 WHRHS registered students (2025-26 school year) and not to be used for credit advancement or enrichment (credit recovery only).

Summer School Attendance,  Conduct and Academic Integrity:
1 . All WHRHS students attending summer school are to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct.

2. As Summer School is not mandatory, any report of misconduct (ROM) may result in dismissal from summer school without refund. 

3. Until completed with all credit recovery coursework as determined by classroom teacher and administration, regular on-time and daily attendance is required.

4. All submitted summer school assignments must be the student's own work. 

5. All assessments must be completed by the student during the in-person class session time.
