Recovery courses are offered online only. They are required classes needed for graduation. These are classes where students were enrolled for the year, but for various reasons, the student did not pass the class or lost credit due to attendance. Students who need to take recovery courses should consult with their guidance counselor in order to ensure they register and pay for the appropriate course. To assist parents in the process, WHRHS supervisors have listed online programs to help students fulfill their graduation requirements (see link below). The link also contains information on the cost of each course. All courses taken for credit recovery will be graded pass/fail.
Please note that students will not be given permission to repeat the course during the regular school year at WHRHS. All makeup/recovery classes are offered online only and should be taken the summer immediately following a failure or a no credit.
WHRHS supervisors will provide support for the online classes during the summer. Students are required to commit to 60 hours of work but it can be self-paced as long as the students finish required work within the five designated weeks. At a minimum, all students who are enrolled in a recovery course are required to come to the high school to check-in for one session per week, beginning on July 10, 2019, and ending on August 17, 2019. Supervisors will be available in the media center to help answer questions, access online support, and help students contact the virtual teacher. Students may choose to attend these help sessions more than once a week. The media center will be staffed Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm to accommodate students’ summer work and vacation schedules.
