WHRHS Scholarships 2021-2022

Each year many scholarships are awarded to the senior class. Scholarships are presented at the Memorial/Community Awards Ceremony or the Senior Awards Ceremony in June. Award amounts are approximate and can vary from year to year, and criteria may also change annually.

Memorial and Local Scholarships

Aaron Christopher Karol Scholarship Available to a senior who has participated in two or more activities in every year of high school.	04/29/2022
Anthony R. Prasa, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Available to a senior who has played a varsity sport at WHRHS and is planning to attend a college in New Jersey and play their sport in college, or, to a senior who will be attending a Maritime School.	04/29/2022
Ben Watkins Memorial Scholarship Available to aid a senior who is furthering their participation in instrumental music.	04/15/2022
Bob Beckert Memorial Scholarship Available to a senior who has participated in a team sport in at least one of their four years at WHRHS.	04/29/2022
John J. Herdman Memorial Scholarship Available to a senior who best exemplifies John’s qualities of character, citizenship, and upholds his standards of leadership, enthusiasm and excellence.	04/29/2022
The Maija Golden Creative Writing Rebel Scholarship Honors a senior that excels in creative writing and stands out as a non-conformist regardless of overall GPA.	04/29/2022
Scott W. Anderson Memorial Award Available to a senior that has participated in Warren travel or recreation basketball.	04/29/2022
Warren Youth Basketball Association Volunteerism Award Available to seniors who were involved in any community volunteer activity. The submission does not have to be basketball or WYBA oriented.	04/29/2022
Watchung Lions Club Scholarship Students who understand the importance of education are encouraged to submit applications.	04/29/2022
Watchung Hills Soccer Association Scholarship Award Applicant must have participated in WHSA Travel or WHSA Recreation soccer for a minimum of 5 seasons.	04/29/2022

Green Brook Education Academic & Athletic Foundation Scholarships Available to Green Brook seniors that have attended either I.E.F. Elementary or Green Brook Middle School for at least one year.	04/29/2022
Green Brook PTO Scholarships Vocational & Academic Available to Green Brook seniors that have attended either I.E.F. Elementary or Green Brook Middle School for at least one year.	04/29/2022
Long Hill Township PTO Scholarships Available to Long Hill Township seniors who graduated from Central Middle School in Long Hill Township and who demonstrate need and service to the community.	04/29/2022
L. Suzanne Kenney Memorial Scholarship Available to Watchung residents only who at one time attended either Bayberry or Valley View School.	04/29/2022
Peter C. Rovtar Memorial Scholarship Available to a senior who has been active in SCRIPT and CUE. (either behind the scenes or in performance)	04/29/2022
Warren Lions Club Scholarship and The Barrett Davies Scholarship Applicants must reside in Warren Township or Long Hill Township. The Barrett Davies Scholarship specifically requires that the applicant must plan to study engineering or architecture.	04/29/2022
Warren Township PTO Scholarships Available to students who reside in Warren Township and demonstrate financial need and strong academic achievement, community service and participation in extracurricular activities. The senior must have attended at least 1 year of a Warren Township Schools Elementary school PLUS 3 years (grades 6, 7 & 8) of Warren Middle School.	04/29/2022
Watchung Exempt Firemen's Association Scholarship Available to a senior who resides in Watchung Borough, plans to attend a four-year college, and demonstrates need. Preference will be given to a child of a Watchung fireman.	04/29/2022
Watchung Exempt Firemen’s Association (Artie Jacot Scholarship) Available to a senior who resides in Watchung Borough, plans to attend a four-year college, and demonstrates need.	04/29/2022
Watchung Fire Department Chemical Engine Company (Kenneth Schmidt Scholarship) Available to a senior who resides in Watchung Borough and demonstrates need. Preference will be given to a student who is active in community service as a volunteer, such as a member of a rescue squad or fire department.	04/29/2022
Watchung Hills Elks Scholarships Available to Warren, Watchung and Green Brook seniors who have demonstrated high moral standards based on academic achievement, community service, and outstanding participation in school activities.	04/29/2022
