Solar Car Club

Mission:

The purpose of this club is to provide students with a way to explore the STEM field using solar energy. Students will work together in teams ranging from two to four people to design a small model solar car that will run on solar energy using recycled materials. Students will also organize events to fundraise for solar panels and other expenses. This club will teach students efficient and effective teamwork and communication skills, the ability to think creatively, and to be able to troubleshoot their existing design. During the spring, students will be offered the oppo1tunity to compete against other teams in a competition based on creative design, speed, and use of recycled material. This club will also offer forums on solar energy and help broaden the student's understanding.
