Ping Pong and Badminton Club

Attention: This club is currently inactive because it lacks a Board of Education-approved Faculty Advisor, which is required to hold meetings. If you are interested in reactivating this club, contact Mr. Bertelli for next steps.

Mission:

The Ping Pong and Badminton Club seeks to introduce ping pong and badminton, both recreational and competitive sports, to Watchung Hills. Ping pong and badminton are enjoyable sports to play with friends, and bring people with a common interest of the sports together. Although the sport is renowned for its intense competition in the athletic world, the Table Tennis Club will provide an atmosphere in which people of all skill levels may flourish. Additionally, those who are proficient in ping pong can participate in tournaments held occasionally in the Lily Yip Table Tennis Center in Dunellen, owned and operated by US Olympic champion and coach of the US table tennis team, Lily Yip. There, committed players are able to receive ratings for their skill level and play against people not only from Watchung Hills, but from all around the area. Overall, this club will unite students with an interest in table tennis and badminton throughout the school. It is also a fantastic way to socialize and meet new people through the common hobby of racket sports. Furthermore, the club hopes to promote a stress-free and recreational atmosphere in which its members may have an opportunity to socialize and further their skill in ping pong and badminton.
