The Watchung Hills History Bowl Team took root in 2016 when a group led by Kevin Tan developed the club's constitution in collaboration with Mr. Erin Hodge. Immediately upon board approval of the club, the team began preparing for its first regional competition at Torah Academy of Bergen Country in Teaneck, NJ. Two teams competed against other schools from the region and succeeded in qualifying for the National History Bowl in Arlington, VA. Not only was the team excited about their early success, but it was clear that the club was gaining momentum. Despite the Watchung Team being an early starter on the national stage, early success and a solid performance was cause for celebration.
This year we are off to a promising start with 24 students ready to demonstrate their broad historical knowledge in hopes of qualifying for the 2018 National History Bowl. We meet regularly during lunch and after school. 2 teams with 4 members each sit face to face and answers history questions structure in 4 distinct ways. Simply put, the team that accrues the most points wins!
Our vision is to create a dynamic, collaborative, and passionate environment and to, most importantly, have fun in the process
