Health Related Issues

To help us navigate health concerns of our field hockey student-athletes,  we have been assigned a point of contact within the health office.

Any health related questions (including anything having to do with COVID -- symptoms, quarantining, returning to play, etc) please reach out to our assigned nurse: Angela Valerio  avalerio@whrhs.org  908-647-4800 x4875.  

 

 

 

COVID Symptom Protocol

At this time, all students with Covid-19 like symptoms, regardless of vaccination status, must be
evaluated by a medical provider and submit a note with a diagnosis to the health office indicating a return date prior to attending school or any school sponsored activities. It is up to the medical provider to determine if Covid-19 testing is needed. If Covid-19 testing is done, the school nurses will need a copy of the result along with the doctor’s note prior to return. Students should not be sent to school/sports/extra-curricular activities when sick.

 

NJDOH recommends that students with the following symptoms be promptly isolated:
At least two of the following symptoms:
Fever (measured or subjective)
Chills
Rigors (shivers)
Headache
Fatigue
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Body aches
Nausea/vomiting
Diarrhea
OR
At least one of the following symptoms:
Cough
Shortness of breath
Difficulty breathing
New loss of taste or smell

Doctor’s notes and results can be sent to our assigned nurse, Mrs. Angela Valerio.
