Grading and Homework
The Mathematics Department has set best practices for each of the assessment types presented to students.
1) Homework-graded and entered on a daily basis.
2) Quiz-teacher has 3 school days to grade and post onto Genesis grade book.
- For example a quiz given on Tuesday would graded, given back to students to review in class, and posted on Genesis by Friday.
- For example a quiz given on Thursday would graded, given back to students to review in class, and posted on Genesis by the following Tuesday.
- For example a test given on Tuesday would graded, given back to students to review in class, and posted on Genesis by the following Monday.
Homework/Grading Practices
- Homework in Mathematics courses will between 5-10%. Half-year electives will weight homework at 10-20% of the final marking period grade.
- One-day absent-two calendar days to make up any work
- A zero will be entered in Genesis for missing work-Teacher may indicate works needs to be made-up in notes tab
- Daily homework shall be communicated electronically (email blast, web site posting, etc.) no later than 2:40PM
