SPORTS-STUDY

SPORTS-sTUDY applications open on august 28, 2024 and close on sEPTEMBER 12, 2024 for THE fall sports SEASON.  All applications must be completed through Parent Portal. 

 

 

SPORTS-STUDY is a program that awards physical education credit for students who participate in a WHRHS sports team or activity. It is a seasonal program (fall, winter, spring) that is offered each academic year. It is open to all students in grades 9-12.

All applications for SPORTS-STUDY take a minimum of 48 hours to process. Students will be notified by their school counselors when their schedules have changed. All students must report to their PE class while their SPORTS-STUDY application is being processed. 

The season start/end dates and sports/activities that qualify for SPORTS-STUDY in 24-25 are as follows:

 

FALL: 8/12/24 - 11/6/24.  (Applications open in Parent Portal on 8/28/24 and close on 9/12/24.)

Football, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Gymnastics, Soccer, Girls Tennis,  Girls Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee (club), Marching Band, Cheerleading (Sideline Cheer: Football), Competition Cheer

(A NOTE TO FRESHMEN STUDENTS:

Freshmen students begin the year in Health 9, not PE. The fall sports season and Health 9 will end at the same time, November 6. Therefore, fall SPORTS-STUDY is not an option for freshmen students. All other SPORTS-STUDY seasons (winter and spring) are open to freshmen.  The only exception is for freshmen students who participate in WHRHS volleyball or soccer and continue with club volleyball or soccer (must be the same sport) for the remainder of the year. If that is the case, complete the fall SPORTS-STUDY application via the Parent Portal. Once the season ends and your club coach approves your participation, you will then move to OPTION II for the remainder of the year.)

 

Winter: 11/25/24 - 1/24/25  (Applications open in Parent Portal on 11/25/24 and close on 12/9/24.)

Ice Hockey, Bowling, Swimming, B/G Basketball, Fencing, Winter Cheer (basketball/wrestling), Wrestling, Winter Track  Competition Cheer

 

 

SPRING: 3/10 - 6/1  (Applications open in Parent Portal on 3/10/25 and close on 3/24/25.)

Lacrosse, Golf, Track & Field, Boys Tennis, Boys Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee (sport)

A student cannot combine SPORTS-STUDY with OPTION II.*
