Option II
OPTION II is a full year PE program that runs from September through June each school year. It is open to all students in grades 9-12*. It is a program that allows a student who pursues a sport or activity at the competitive level outside of WHRHS to take a study hall in lieu of a regular PE class during the year. The student will receive PE credit for their out-of-school sport/activity provided a qualified coach/trainer is willing to undertake sponsorship.
Applications for OPTION II must be made through our Genesis Parent Portal. This year, the application process will open on August 28 and close on September 14. Late applications will not be accepted.
Completing an application is the first step in requesting OPTION II. Once we have received your application, we will contact the coach you have listed as a potential sponsor. The coach will have two weeks to respond to our email for sponsorship. When the coach responds accepting sponsorship and agrees to the OPTION II REQUIREMENTS, the student will receive an email from their school counselor with their schedule change of a study hall in lieu of regular PE class.

* A NOTE TO FRESHMEN STUDENTS: If you participate in an after-school sport/activity and are interested in OPTION II, you must complete the application form through our Genesis Parent Portal by the specified deadline. Freshmen students begin the year in Health 1, not PE. Health is a graduation requirement. Once Health 1 is over, all freshmen who have been approved for OPTION II will transition to a study hall in lieu of PE class for the remainder of the year. Your school counselor will contact you with your updated schedule. Late applications for OPTION II will not be accepted.
