Grading for Health and PE.

HEALTH is graded on a Pass/Fail basis (P/F). The minimum numerical passing grade in Health is a 75. Any numerical grade below 75 will receive an F as a final grade. Health is a yearly requirement for graduation. If a student fails Health, they will be given the opportunity to recover credit via summer school. Summer school may require a fee. Consult with your school counselor. 

Health meets according to the following schedule:

HEALTH 9 (Quarter 1, Semester 1, Freshman Year)

HEALTH 10 (Quarter 2, Semester 1, Sophomore Year)

HEALTH 11 (Quarter 4, Semester 2, Junior Year)

HEALTH 12 (Quarter 3, Semester 2, Senior Year)

There is an attendance requirement for Health. Students will be allowed a maximum of 6 unexcused absences. Upon the 7th unexcused absence, the student will fail the course. Excessive excused absences may also result in a failing grade. See the Student Handbook. 

 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PE) is graded on a Pass/Fail basis (P/F). The minimum numerical passing grade in PE is a 75. Any numerical grade below 75 will receive an F as a final grade. There is also an attendance requirement for each quarter of each year of PE. Students will be allowed a maximum of 6 unexcused absences every quarter. Upon the 7th unexcused absence in a quarter, the student will fail PE. Students will be given the opportunity to recover credit via PE Makeup if they fail. See PE Makeup for more information.
