Watchung Hills Regional High School

Robotic's Accomplishments

Congratulations to our Robotic’s team on their first place showing in the N. Y. C. Robotic’s Regional competition last weekend.  Qualifying for the National’s in mid-April, the Robo Warriors defeated 65 teams in winning the Regional competition.  Supported by the Anadigics Corporation of Warren Township, Watchung Hills Board of Education, the Knott’s Company of Berkeley Heights, and our parents, our Robo Warriors developed one of the finest robots on the east coast.  Coached by staff members Mike Kutch, Bill Mulligan, Andy Furlong, and James Giacchi, and supported by Anadigics engineering professionals, Bill Tompkins and Jeff Erickson, the twenty students were provided expert guidance and support in this venture.  The students, many of whom are involved in the High School’ “Project Lead the Way” engineering program, spent a tremendous amount of time working together to create an robot which measures up to the best in the nation. The students will on to compete in Atlanta Georgia in the National’s.  A video presentation is also available for viewing what the Robot can do by clicking below.
