PROJECT GRADUATION                2008

What is Project Graduation?

It is an all-night post graduation party for the graduating seniors of WHRHS.  It includes transportation to and from the party site, entertainment, food, games, music and prizes.  This will be the last time the entire class will be together and the only party to which every graduate is invited.

Why do we have Project Graduation?

The answer is simple - keep our children safe!  Our goal is to protect the graduates from the risk of injury due to alcohol or drug related accidents on graduation night.

Where will Project Graduation be held this year?

We have reserved the Sonny Werblin Athletic Center at Rutgers University for June 24, 2008.  Some of the activities for that evening will include volleyball, basketball and swimming.  There is additional space for a DJ, several massage therapists, a hypnotist, tarot card readers, air-brush tattoos and a food court.

Who pays for Project Graduation?

Financial support for Project Graduation comes from many sources. We will be sending appeal letters to parents, the local business community and PTO's.  We do, however, depend heavily on the donations from our senior parents. This year, we will also be holding a raffle.

How will the seniors sign-up for Project Graduation?

Throughout the school year, we will be encouraging all seniors to attend Project Graduation.  For example, each time there is a homeroom, the seniors will receive a small spirit item with a reminder to sign-up for Project Graduation.  From time-to-time committee members will be in the cafeterias with sign-up forms.  As graduation grows closer, we will be sending sign-up forms home with progress reports.  Our goal is 100% participation.

Thank you.
