Major Test - Speak - Essay Topic:

Analyze the character of Melinda by explaining how she exemplifies/symbolizes the hero on the hero's journey.  Use archetypes, stages of the hero's journey, traits, and textual evidence to support your position.  Remember, do not just explain the "what" - explain the "WHY"!!!!

Essay will be Tuesday, December 18, 2007, in class.  You may pre-write and organize as much as you would like, at home, but the actual writing should take place in class.  You may use your prewriting and book on the exam.
