The Office of Curriculum and Instruction focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of the content/academic programs offered at Watchung Hills Regional High School. With rigorous expectations and a wide-range of opportunities in the areas of Arts/Family Consumer Sciences, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, World Languages, Physical Education, and Business Arts, there is a collaboration among teachers, staff, administrators, students, and the community to provide meaningful and active student learning. As a result, there is an emphasis on 21st century learning/skills and an alignment with the updated New Jersey and national core content standards. Professional development for all faculty members is at the forefront of the endeavors of this office, with opportunities for the staff to become involved in Professional Learning Communities, participate in monthly Strategies for Success sessions, and to attend both workshops/conferences both here at Watchung Hills and elsewhere around the State. Staying abreast of current research, sharing best practices, and improving continually upon classroom instruction are key objectives to ensure that WH faculty members prepare and equip our students to face the challenges that lie ahead and to create optimal opportunities for their success.
