Requirements for Members

Script and Cue is open to all grades at Watchung Hills Regional HS. Students are notified at the beginning of the year about the club and if interested can join at our first meeting in September. Anyone interested in Theatre, Acting, Technical Theatre or working back stage are warmly invited.

THE CONSTITUTION

OF

SCRIPT & CUE

OF

WATCHUNG HILLS REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

PREAMBLE

The organization of Script & Cue belonging to Watchung Hills Regional High School (WHRHS) to improve theatrical abilities and open endless opportunities for each and every student to thrive in. Emphasize team work, yet bring attention to individuality and independence within one’s character. We the council members hereby establish Script & Cue of Watchung Hills Regional High School.

ARTICLE I- NAME

The association shall henceforth be designated as Script & Cue (S&C) of Watchung Hills Regional High School (WHRHS)

ARTICLE II- AFFILIATION

Script & Cue is affiliated with International Thespian Society (ITS).

ARTICLE III- COMPOSITION OF SCRIPT & CUE

SECTION 1: Five (5) council members of the organization shall represent Script & Cue

A.Two (2) students selected from the senior class to head the Merchandising and Advertising Committee.

B.Two (2) students selected from the senior class to head the Fundraising and Baking Committee.

C.One (1) student selected from the senior class to head the Social Events Committee.

SECTION 2: Members of the Script & Cue council must be selected by prior grade executive board members.

SECTION 3: Members of the Script & Cue Council shall:

A.Be a constituent of his/her committee for the year they serve as a council member.

B.Represent the interests of his/her fellow members on their personal committee.

C.Represent the interests of all members and fellow council members brought forth before the Script & Cue organization.

D.Commit to a majority of events and workshops.

E.Be informed and inform the members of Script & Cue through social media or direct contact of upcoming events (master classes, cabarets, workshops, etc.)

SECTION 4:The end of one’s councilship term will end on the final day of the official school year.

SECTION 5: A student can only serve one term (1 year) during their final year of high school at Watchung Hills Regional High School (WHRHS) as a senior (12th grade).

ARTICLE IV - EXECUTIVE BOARD

The executive powers of Script & Cue shall be vested within the hands of the council members of Script & Cue

SECTION 1: The officers of the Script & Cue organization will be equivalent in their status.

SECTION 2: In order to be eligible as a candidate of potential council members of Script & Cue (S&C), one must hold 3 years of experience as a member of the organization. An exception will be made towards all members who show the equivalent motivation towards the organization, yet have been limited in their time spent at Watchung Hills Regional High School. (transfer, etc.)

ARTICLE V - MEETINGS

SECTION 1: The Script & Cue Council shall have the power to decide when meetings take place (Time, location, etc.)

SECTION 2: Council members are advised to inform all members of Script & Cue of the information distributed through the meeting through email, direct contact, text messaging, facebook, and other sources of communication. This is generally in regards to members who were unable to attend a meeting.

ARTICLE VI- IMPEACHMENT

SECTION 1: Any member on the Script & Cue Council may be impeached for failure to fulfill his/her duties on their committees and towards the organization as a whole.

SECTION 2: Charges of impeachment may be brought up by any representative on the Script & Cue council and requires a three-fourths (¾) affirmative vote.

ARTICLE VII- ADVISORS

SECTION 1: The advisor must be a present faculty member.

SECTION 2: The advisor must sign off on all paperwork and fiscal issues.

SECTION 3: The advisor must supervise students and be present during meetings, trips, master classes, and workshops after school to ensure the safety of all students/

SECTION 4: The advisor must ensure that the present and active members of Script & Cue remain within the guidelines set forth by the Script & Cue Council alongside Watchung Hills Regional High School (WHRHS).

ARTICLE VIII - RATIFICATION

To ratify this constitution, at least fifty (50%) of the Script & Cue organization must vote.


This constitution was adopted on the 13th of October 2015.
