The teachers of the department use a wide variety of technological and pedagogical tools including Texas Instrument Calculator Technology, Smart Symposium Technology, and guided/independent practice to maximize student achievement. The curriculum of the mathematics department has roots in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics which will help educate students for college and career readiness. The state of New Jersey is part of a larger consortium of states involved with the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). The goal of PARCC is to have a Common Core of Standards that are the building blocks of K-12 assessments that will assist students in becoming college and career ready. The mathematics department of WHRHS has embraced this change and continues to enhance the curriculum to prepare students for 21st century learning/careers.
