OPT OUT applications open on 3/11 and close on 3/28 for spring  season sports.  All applications must be completed through Parent Portal. 

 

 

OPT OUT is a program that awards physical education credit for students who participate in a WHRHS sports team or activity. It is a seasonal program (fall, winter, spring) that is offered each academic year. It is open to all students in grades 9-12.

All applications for OPT OUT take a minimum of 48 hours to process. Students will be notified by their school counselors when their schedules have changed. 

The season start/end dates and sports/activities that qualify for OPT OUT in 23-24 are as follows:

 

FALL: 8/21 - 11/12.  (Applications open in Parent Portal on 8/21 and close on 9/15.)

Football, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Gymnastics, Soccer, Girls Tennis,  Girls Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee (club), Marching Band, Cheerleading (Sideline Cheer: Football), Competition Cheer

 

 

Winter: 11/20 - 3/3  (Applications open in Parent Portal on 11/20 and close on 12/8.)

Ice Hockey, Bowling, Swimming, B/G Basketball, Fencing, Winter Cheer (basketball/wrestling), Wrestling, Winter Track  Competition Cheer

(Sophomores who apply for winter OPT OUT and are approved will move to a study hall in lieu of PE class once Health 10 finalizes on 1/26/24. They will remain in study hall  from 1/29/24 until the end of winter sports on 3/3/24.

Seniors who apply for winter OPT OUT and are approved will move to a study hall in lieu of PE class through 1/26/24. On 1/29/24 all seniors will drop study hall and move to Health 12 through 3/28/24.)

 

 

SPRING: 3/11 - 6/9  (Applications open in Parent Potal on 3/11/24 and close on 3/28/24.)

Lacrosse, Golf, Track & Field, Boys Tennis, Boys Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee (sport)
